Digestive System

The Oesophagus is a muscular tube it connects your mouth to your stomach. When you swallow food the walls of the Oesophagus squeeze together this moves the food down the Oesophagus and into the stomach. The stomach is like a mixer mashing together all the small balls of food that came down from the Oesophagus. The small intestine carries out most of the digestive process absorbing almost all of the nutrients.

Perseverance Rover

Hello last week we had been learning about a rover that has lanched and is heading to mars. To get the statistics copy this link and put it in google https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/ Did you know that the perseverance rover is powered by a multi mission radioisotope thermoelectric generator that provides electrical power to the rover. Aslo did you know that the perseverance rover has a drill it is called a coring drill it is a rotary percussive drill to extract samples cores from rocks. Perseverance is the first leg of a round trip to Mars. Verifying ancient microscopic life on Mars carries an enormous piece of proof. Perseverance is the first rover to bring a sample-gathering system to Mars that will package promising examples of rocks and sediments for return to Earth by a future mission. The perseverance rover has a drone that they are going to use to fly over mars and it will make it easier to find things. The perseverance rover is going to land in Jezero Crater on February 18 2021 Jezero crater is 45 kilometers wide and sits on the western edge of Isidis Planitia, a giant basin just north of the Martian equator dug out long ago when a space rock hit the surface. Sometime between 3 billion and 4 billion years ago at Jezero, a river flowed into a body of water the size of Lake Tahoe the science team has had many discussions about where the next Mars rover should go," said Ken Farley, the mission's project scientist, based at Caltech in Pasadena. "We ultimately chose Jezero Crater because it is such a promising location for finding organic molecules and other potential signs of microbial life.

How does honey get made

How does honey get made Western honey bees are responsible for pollinating three quarters of the worlds fruit and vegetable plants and making the delicious sweet honey. How do bees make the honey they make honey by going to the flowers and sucking up the polin with they're tongues then digest it to they're honey stomach. When they fill up there honey stomachs they will take it to the hive and vomit it in to many other bees so it breaks down the nectar into sugars then they place it in the honey comb and seal it. When the bee man comes they will use a special gas that makes the bees not as aggressive as they usually would be. Then they will take it to a machine that will suck the honey out of the comb and place it into a jar and sealed. And then a honey collector comes and collects it in his truck and then takes it to the supermarket for us to buy. I highly recommend honey it's nice and sweet it is good on toast and weetbix.
